Breast Cancer Symptoms
Breast cancer most commonly originates from the inner lining of the milk ducts (ductal carcinomas) or lobules (lobular carcinomas) responsible for milk production. Breast cancer can be detected early via regular mammogram screenings, although it can go undiagnosed even after a mammogram. It is important to seek the services of a health care professional with adequate experience in diagnosing breast diseases.
Breast cancer symptoms include:
- A lump or mass within the breast region
- Complete or partial swelling of the breast
- Dimpling or skin irritation
- Pain within the breast and/or nipple
- Nipple retraction
- Nipple or breast skin becomes increasingly red, scaly, or thicker
- Nipple discharge (other than milk)
- Swollen lymph nodes under the arm or around the collarbone
Although it most often affects females, breast cancer can also be found in males. Breast cancer can often spread to surrounding areas. If you’re experiencing any of the symptoms above, it’s recommended to consult a qualified physician. The sooner this condition is diagnosed, the better your chances for a successful treatment.
